Portcities seeks a dynamic and experienced Associate Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in doing FRD and understanding functional requirements. This role involves collaborating closely with the engineering manager, consulting team, and project delivery team to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
Job Description
- Build Odoo Solutions: Support the development and customization of Odoo applications for international clients across multiple industries.
- Technical Solution Development: Collaborate with consultants and senior engineers to implement business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Odoo Development: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of custom Odoo modules following engineering standards and best practices.
- ERP Integration & Automation: Assist in integrating Odoo with external systems and third-party platforms through APIs and workflow automation.
- System Support & Improvement: Support ongoing improvements and maintenance of Odoo applications to ensure stable business operations.
- Engineering Collaboration: Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and collaborative development practices within the engineering team.
- Learning & Growth: Actively learn from senior engineers, participate in knowledge sharing, and continuously improve technical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of internship, academic, or professional experience in software engineering, backend development, or ERP application development.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Python & Backend Engineering: Experience with Python programming, object-oriented programming concepts, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Odoo Expertise: Exposure to Odoo development, customization, or ERP systems is a plus.
- ERP & Business Operations: Basic understanding of ERP workflows and business operations across areas such as Sales, Inventory, Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, or HR.
- System Integration & Automation: Basic understanding of APIs, system integrations, or automated workflows is a plus.
- Engineering Practices: Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and collaborative software development practices.
- Additional Technical Skills: Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), messaging systems, ETL/data workflows, or machine learning integrations is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English.
